When the energy crisis hit in 1980, David Steele was a social worker at the Council on Aging in Aiken, S.C. Understandably, he developed an interest in helping the elderly save on their power bills. Exploring avenues of energy conservation is what eventually led him to the window business.
David and his business partner, Kurt Eyrich, believed that consumers were underserved by the existing sources of supply and that homeowners wanted better windows than the ones being used in this market. Despite being told that “No one would buy Andersen Windows in Augusta, Georgia” they believed otherwise. Consequently, The Window Gallery was one of the first dedicated window centers in the nation. Two decades and many dream homes, commercial projects and remodeling jobs later, David and his team have become one of the most respected window and door suppliers in the nation. Most of our business is in the CSRA (Central Savannah River Area) but we also serve the broader Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina markets.
