William Robinson Grade School
Stewards of History and the Environment
Located in the heart of historic Summerville, William Robinson was designed in 1925 by renowned architect Willis Irvin. Brothers Braye and Clay Boardman have developed this beloved grade school into twelve luxury condominiums. The SchoolHOUSE was renovated by Capers Construction Company into environmentally and historically sensitive residences. Eagle windows were selected to preserve the historic character of of the original wood windows while providing durable, beautiful and energy efficient windows that will stand the test of time.
Monte Sano Elementary School
Historic Preservation of 100 Year Old Grade School
The late Marvin Powell, AIA asked for The Window Gallery’s help when competitive firms had proposed solutions that were unacceptable from an aesthetic and financial standpoint. The Window Gallery proposed a solution that cut the cost to the school system by $90,000. The original window frames were built from “old growth” wood and were sound, however the sash had deteriorated and had to be replaced. We used clad-wood windows and installed a panning system over the sills to prevent future damage.
Morrow Welcome Center
Innovative Design and Creative Problem Solving
The design of this building, located south of Atlanta, posed a challenge of coordination between the architect, the building contractor and the manufacturer. A convex wall and a curving roof posed a problem that demanded detailed job site measurements and close cooperation between all parties. Stunning walls of glass and a custom glass entry door were made possible by the use of High Performance Sun Glass an innovative glazing system from Andersen and Cardinal IG.
Sutherland Mill
56,000 square foot mill is awarded LEED Gold Certification
Located on St. Sebastian Way near Augusta Georgia’s medical center, this former textile Mill has been repurposed for medical, professional space. This LEED Gold Certified project demanded 12/12 high performance windows custom sized in a Cinnamon color for the main structure and multi-paned white windows in the clerestory section.
